HELD ON 15TH JUNE 2023 AT THE OMOKU CIVIC CENTER.
The meeting was presided by the President of Omoku Youth Federation (OYF), Comr. Chinedu Onyije, alongside the chairman of the Omoku CDCs Forum, Hon. Emeka Ogbowu, and the major aim of the congress was to formally brief the entire Omoku Communities on the efforts so far made by engaging the Agip Land Area Manager and the PAF manager in trying to finding a lasting solution to the issues of epileptic power supply in Omoku & her Communities, and also to get suggestions from the community on a way forward.
SUGGESTION;
It was suggested that the power sub-station at Ikiri road be rehabilitated to serve as an alternative power supply for Omoku Communities in case of any breakdown of the Omoku Communities power turbines in the OB/OB gas plant. But from the response, Agip seems not yet ready to find alternative solution to the issue of epileptic power supply in Omoku Communities. And on this note, we have formally written a letter of audience with the Agip management for a dialogue on how to resolve the Omoku light issue.
RESOLUTIONS FROM THE MEETING
- That Agip must provide a dedicated power plant for Omoku Communities to serve as alternative in case of any power failure.
- That the fight to ensure a stable power supply in Omoku Communities is not just the duty of the youths alone but must be the collective efforts of the traditional rulers, CDCs and the Youths in other to avert sabotage of any sort.
- That Omoku people will no longer continue to fold their hands on the issue of epileptic power in Omoku Communities but a decisive action must be taken against Agip henceforth.

However, the chairman of Omoku CDCs Forum, Hon. Emeka Ogbowu pleaded with the congress that caution and wisdom must be applied in taking whatever action we may deem fit, and that the people is giving Agip the space of one week to exhaust all possible dialogue process and that if there is no favourable response from Agip, the congress will reconvene and take the appropriate action they will deem fit.
In conclusion the Omoku Youth Federation (OYF) President, Comr. Chinedu Onyije pleaded with the people of Omoku Communities to criticize his government wisely/constructively and learn to approach him for engagements and ideas through phone calls or private chats rather than writing unreal stories and abusing his personality and that of his executive council on social media, also suggested that deliberations such as this one is an available for everyone to come out and make their contributions towards the betterment of Omoku Communities at large rather than social media castigation.
And the meeting ended at about 4pm with a closing prayer rendered by Mr. Emeka Amadike, the CDC chairman of Eluohna (Obakata) Community,
Comr. Nwajari Oluwatoyin Onyinyechi,
Public Relations Officer (PRO),
Omoku Youth Federation (OYF)
