The Congress of University Academics (CONUA), a group of lecturers, has demanded that universities open right away so that classes can resume.

Recall that CONUA has asked to be registered as one of the academic unions in the universities with the Minister of Labor and Employment.
The group has been at odds with ASUU and has been working feverishly to become recognized as a different union.

In sympathy and support of the Federal Government’s call for universities to reopen for academic activities without restrictions so that court procedures and talks can continue with students back in class, CONUA stormed the National Industrial Court of Nigeria, NICN, on Friday.
The majority of CONUA’s members are senior lecturers, lecturers, and some professors.
